Leno’s Arsenal stint
Bernd Leno made the switch to Arsenal in the summer of 2018.
The German joined the North London outfit from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee believed to be around £22.5m.
Leno’s first season at the Emirates saw him make 36 appearances across all competitions.
The 27-year-old has continued to be Arsenal’s main shot-stopper during the 2019/20 campaign.
Leno has not featured in any cup games so far this term but he has started between the sticks in all 12 of Arsenal’s league ties.
While Arsenal have not been too great defensively as a unit, Leno has made some solid saves this campaign.
Leno to Bayern?
After impressing in the Premier League, Leno is now being linked with a return to the Bundesliga.
According to the Sun, German giants Bayern Munich have Leno on their radar.
The Sun also claim Bayern are worried about Manuel Neuer’s form:
ARSENAL keeper Bernd Leno is on Bayern Munich’s radar as a target to be their next No 1. German shotstopper Leno, 27, has become a name on the lips of the Bundesliga giants who are worried about Manuel Neuer’s form.
Arsenal beaten by Leicester
Given Arsenal’s recent run of form, Leno may indeed be tempted by a move back to Germany.
The Gunners faced Leicester in Saturday’s late Premier League kick-off and were once again pretty poor.
Brendan Rodgers’ side dominated proceedings and eventually came away with a 2-0 victory.
As a result, Arsenal are down to 6th in the PL and their top-four hopes look to be dwindling.
Currently, the North London outfit are eight points adrift of 4th place Manchester City.
