Tampines Rovers were dealt a huge blow in their quest for the league title as they slipped up against Geylang International.

The Stags lost 2-1 against the Eagles at the Jalan Besar stadium after Yuki Ichikawa scored a header in the dying embers of the game to seal all three points for Noor Ali’s charges.

Indeed the lost will dampen Tampines’ hopes of winning the SPL (Singapore Premier League), as Hougang United have leapfrogged them into second place. Gavin Lee’s men will next play defending champions Albirex Niigata this Sunday.
