Big boost amid midfield selection issues
Everton have been handed an injury boost this week with midfielder Fabian Delph seemingly returning to training ahead of their clash with Watford.
The Blues are in somewhat of a midfield crisis after the first Premier League gameweek.
New signing Fabian Delph suffered an injury during the pre-season clash with Werder Bremen.
Andre Gomes had to be substituted with an injury during Everton’s opening Premier League game against Crystal Palace.
That meant that Jean-Philippe Gbamin had to deputise, despite only joining Everton a week before.
While the midfielder didn’t do too badly, he didn’t look ready to be thrown in at the deep end.
The situation worsened when Morgan Schneiderlin was sent off for a second bookable offence.
After being bookeed for punching the ground after a decision went against him, the Frenchman made a poorly timed challenge which resulted in a second yellow card and an early exit.
That means that only Gbamin and Tom Davies are fit and ready to face Watford this weekend.
However, Everton may have been handed a selection boost ahead of the clash.

Will Delph be ready for the weekend?
That’s because Fabian Delph was spotted in training this afternoon.
The former Man City man appeared in some of the photos taken of the training session.
While that’s no confirmation that Delph will be available for the weekend, it’s no doubt a huge boost that he’s in full training with the Everton squad.
It’s safe to say that should he feature, it would be a timely return and a much-needed lift for Marco Silva’s side.
