Man United’s poor 2018/19
Manchester United’s 2018/19 campaign was pretty poor by their normal standards.
United finished the season down in 6th place while Manchester City won the domestic treble and Liverpool won the Champions League.
In 38 league outings, the Red Devils would let in 54 goals. The worst defence of last season’s top nine clubs.
United also failed to impress in the FA Cup, League Cup and Champions League and will now spend 2019/20 fighting in the Europa League.
Ince on Lingard, Pogba & Woodward
Ahead of the 2019/20 campaign, former Man United star Paul Ince has taken aim at several players in an open letter to Ed Woodward.
You can read the full open letter here.
One of the players discussed by Ince was Jesse Lingard. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to have disciplined Lingard over a controversial video he posted on social media earlier this summer.

When speaking about Lingard, Ince stated:
Jesse has been bang average this year and if I’d performed the way he did last season the last thing I would do is post anything on social media. The way he played last season he should be embarrassed.
Ince then goes on to blast Pogba for the comments he made about wanting to leave United:
Then there’s Pogba – the man you spent £89million on. Why did he wait until the end of the season to say he wants to go with a sly comment in the press? If you’re gonna say it, say it in front of those thousands of fans who go to watch you.
Ole – the man you appointed – needs to come out against these players. He needs to come down hard on them and set a precedent that he’s not allowing players to behave like that anymore. The fans won’t have it. It’s a lack of respect for your team-mates who can behave, and it’s a total lack of respect for playing for Manchester United .
Ince finishes his open letter with a dig at Ed Woodward himself:
As for yourself, stick to counting the cash. As quoted by the Mirror.
